Emmy Nominees: Best Guest Actress in a Comedy Series

My predictions: 5/7, picking Julia Louis-Dreyfus over Joosten and Lynch

This category offers two small surprises, both of which aren’t terribly exciting. Kathryn Joosten does not deserve yet another nod for “Desperate Housewives,” and I fear that she’ll win again just like she did the last two times over far more deserving people. And couldn’t Jane Lynch have earned her second nomination for “Party Down” instead of “Two and a Half Men”? To be fair, I haven’t see the latter this year, but still, it would have been a nice tribute for the departing Starz show. The other five nominees were expected. Three are back from last year – Christine Baranski, Tina Fey, and Elaine Stritch (making it four in a row for her!) – while two previous Emmy winners are back with their ultra-popular guest spots this year, Kristin Chenoweth (Glee) and Betty White (SNL). I still have to watch Baranski and White’s episodes in their entirety to offer more commentary. Worth noting: Baranski, Fey, and Lynch are all double nominees this year (plus Fey got a writing nod).

Who should win? Chenoweth
Who will win? This is a crowded category, but can anyone beat Betty White?
