What I’m Watching: You, Me, Her

You, Me, Her: Season 1, Episode 6 “The T Word” (B+)

Only this show could turn a threesome into an entire episode and make it work spectacularly without showing much of the action. That’s not to say that everything wasn’t well-presented, but, as always, it’s the conversation leading up to – and during, in Jack’s case when he decided to sum up how things were going so far – the act that is most compelling and interesting. Starting with the dancing definitely wasn’t great, but what’s nice is that all three parties are equally into it and they’re all having fun. The unexpected gathering outside the house threatened to put a damper on things, but even that worked out okay in the end, giving Jack and Emma a cute moment to calm each other down and ultimately resulting in them all celebrating their victory of deception and returning to the excitement that they were getting started before they heard whistles and shouting. The assembly of people outside was pretty funny, especially since Ava was enjoying it all and trying to flirt with Andy, while Carmen and Dave were doing their best to justify what was going on and to reduce suspicion. While everyone, including Andy, was moderately satisfied with the excuse the three made up, Lori is definitely on to them, and given how eager she was to run over there and poke around in this episode, she’s certainly going to be doing further investigation going forward. It doesn’t bode well for Jack’s dean career, but hopefully Emma’s threat did not enough to show her that she shouldn’t take action once she pieces it all together.
