What I’m Watching: You, Me, Her

You, Me, Her: Season 4, Episode 2 “The Saddest Clown Show Ever” (B)

This episode saw a whole lot of energy from all of our main characters, which was received questionably by those at whom it was directed. Emma came on strongest after impulsively deciding to start her own business from home, going overboard in her introduction to her gay neighbors. Going over to ask why she hadn’t been invited earned her a blunt response about her intensity, and the fact that her response was to show up like a maniac at Carmen’s office to demand immediate custody of her kids was disconcerting to say the least. Carmen seemed ready to snap, going a bit too into her fantasy about Dave being discovered dead in a hotel room whose location he wouldn’t be able to identify. Let’s hope Dave realizes how angry his wife is getting at him and that he needs to be a bit more present and less nonchalant. Izzy found a great way to repackage her skill set and earn herself a job she most definitely would otherwise not have gotten, and she even had her own condition that remarkably got met. Jack trying to be handy around the house didn’t work too well, but at least he’s giving it a shot. Nina’s meltdown during one of her therapy sessions was pretty spectacular, and Shaun handed her a major opportunity when he suggested that she be in the in-house counsel for the bar, an idea that seems incredibly risky and likely to bring trouble, but I’ll be very curious to see how it plays out.
