SAG Predictions: Best Male Actor in a Miniseries or Made-for-TV Movie

Last year’s nominees: Matt Damon (Behind the Candelabra), Michael Douglas (Behind the Candelabra), Rob Lowe (Killing Kennedy), Al Pacino (Phil Spector), Jeremy Irons (The Hollow Crown)

The rundown: This race could look a lot like the corresponding Emmy one from this past year since the “True Detective” boys are considered drama series stars. That means winner Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock: His Last Vow), also a likely film nominee, Billy Bob Thornton (Fargo), Martin Freeman (Fargo), and Mark Ruffalo (The Normal Heart) should all be nominated, that is if their supporting counterparts Martin Freeman (Sherlock: His Last Vow), Colin Hanks (Fargo), Matt Bomer (The Normal Heart), Jim Parsons (The Normal Heart), Alfred Molina (The Normal Heart), or Joe Mantello (The Normal Heart) don’t manage to steal a spot instead. New contenders from the second half of the year include Bill Murray (Olive Kitteridge) and Stephen Rea (The Honourable Woman).

Current predictions: Cumberbatch, Freeman, Murray, Ruffalo, Thornton
