What I’m Watching: Bad Sisters

Bad Sisters: Season 1, Episode 8 “The Cold Truth” (B+)

I’m so thrilled to be able to return to this show since I had the chance to watch the first seven episodes in quick succession so that I could review them way back in early August. It’s not nearly as satisfying to experience just one hour now, but these characters are so richly written and acted that it’s definitely a pleasure. I didn’t know what to expect when Becka found that body in the freezer, and I’m glad it ended up just being a case of JP stashing his dead father in there so that he could continue to spend his money since no one would know he was dead. Becka was very excited to come up with her plan to lock him in there, turn the temperature down, and make it look like he had just fallen asleep, but Eva was quick to pump the brakes on that plan. It’s understandable given just how horrible he was to her before that, going for the promotion she deserved just because he knew how much she wanted it and how devastated she would be to see him get it instead. Ruining her friendship with Gabriel was especially cruel. We didn’t see JP’s body or Becka confirming that it was there, so I’m dubious about whether this is what killed him, but maybe we’ll find out on the other end as Thomas continues to press for information following the exhumation. The fact that Matt and Becka are still dating is just crazy, but at least every other member of both families agrees that it’s a bad idea.
