What I’m Watching: Ringer

Ringer: Season 1, Episode 11 “It Just Got Normal” (C+)

It’s been almost two months since this show last aired, and that episode, in which cop Charlie managed to shoot point blank into a trunk and miss before getting himself killed by the real Siobhan, is better forgotten. This installment is monumental because it features Siobhan reentering her old life, fooling everyone she speaks to just as easily as Bridget has done up until this point. Telling Henry that she still loves him is a risky move, and the episode’s mid-conversation end is the perfect opportunity for her to reveal the truth to him. I doubt that’s going to happen however, and I also don’t see Henry surviving for too long given how impossibly dumb he is. Siobhan seemed really upset about the affection that Andrew and Bridget now have for each other, understandably, and she definitely does not like Andrew. Manipulating Tyler is only going to get her so far before someone slips up and says the wrong thing, making it obvious that there are in fact two Siobhans. Thanks to some prodding by Henry, Machado has gone and discovered that Charlie was meeting Siobhan and not Bridget, so hopefully he’ll be smart about how he handles that information. It’s still quite unclear what has transpired between Mr. C and Juliet, but Bridget’s noble defense of her stepdaughter doesn’t seem to have helped matters at all, unfortunately. Bridget may be a new person, but it’s awfully difficult to step out of the looming, cruel shadow cast by the ever-scheming Siobhan.
