Golden Globe Predictions: Best Actress in a Miniseries or TV Movie

I’ve been predicting the Golden Globe nominations for more than fifteen years, and even if the group doesn’t have the same industry relevance as in the past, it’s still helpful and fun to see what shows and performances get honored. Here’s my assessment of the contenders in this category.

Last year’s nominees:
Jessica Chastain (Scenes from a Marriage)
Cynthia Erivo (Genius: Aretha)
Elizabeth Olsen (WandaVision)
Margaret Qualley (Maid)
Kate Winslet (Mare of Easttown)

Four of the six Emmy nominees from this past year are eligible, and they’re all likely to show up here: Amanda Seyfried (The Dropout), Lily James (Pam and Tommy), Toni Collette (The Staircase), and Julia Garner (Inventing Anna). The category could be rounded out with one of last year’s Globe nominees, Jessica Chastain (George and Tammy). Other possibilities include Emily Blunt (The English), Julia Roberts (Gaslit), Viola Davis (The First Lady), Michelle Pfeiffer (The First Lady), Gillian Anderson (The First Lady), Elle Fanning (The Girl from Plainville), Anne Hathaway (WeCrashed), and Jessica Biel (Candy).

Current predictions:
Jessica Chastain (George and Tammy)
Toni Collette (The Staircase)
Julia Garner (Inventing Anna)
Lily James (Pam and Tommy)
Amanda Seyfried (The Dropout)
