Weeds: Season 5, Episode 10 “Perro Insano” (B)
This episode is all about revelations and theoretical talk of plans for the future rather than actual plot developments. Nancy’s realization that it’s actually the people around Esteban rather than the mayor himself who are out to get her leads her to shoot Cesar in the arm and somehow fully embrace Esteban as her husband and back his independent candidacy for the governorship. It all seems like a bit of quick decision, especially because it completes amputates two characters from the show (Andy and Silas), sending them away on some likely wild, crazy adventure and backpacking trip through Europe, respectively. It also seems like Silas has proved recently that he’s grown up and he can try to run a legitimate business, and therefore it makes sense that he would be the safer sibling to keep around, as opposed to the cursing, beer-guzzling, yeast-infected Shane. Celia’s really alienating herself from everyone and risking being the victim of some major revenge, though I hardly think Doug and Dean will be qualified to take her down. Remember how that whole crew banded together to place the blame on Celia at the beginning of last season when Roy Till was questioning them? She wasn’t even guilty of anything then, so perhaps it’s fitting that she enjoys some happiness for a while. Dean seemed a bit too willing to become even with Doug, barely giving a second thought to dousing his balls in hot coffee, which is odd because that guy has gotten screwed a lot lately, and you’d think he’d be a bit more careful before selflessly sacrificing himself.
