What I'm Watching: Swingtown (Season Finale)

Swingtown: Season 1, Episode 13 "Take It to the Limit" (C+)

A semi-important but otherwise unexciting finale to a show that is sure to fade into history rather quickly. Susan going to Roger's hotel room is pretty monumental, but I don't know where that could possibly lead. It's weird to see Janet's reaction to her best friend at work being gay, though a show with such sexually progressive morals was sure to introduce homosexuality in the seventies sooner or later. B.J. and Sam's relationship turned out to be much more touching than I had initially imagined, and I'm glad that Doug made the decision to leave Lori to finish her high school career with the distraction of his presence. This show was, overall, an amusing ride which never quite surpassed its potential as a forgettable summer show. A second season renewal? Unlikely, only time will tell.

Season grade: C+
Season MVP: Molly Parker/Miriam Shor
