What I’m Watching: Hello Ladies

Hello Ladies: Season 1, Episode 6 “Long Beach” (B+)

It looks like Stuart is capable of getting into trouble even when he doesn’t have the chance to embarrass himself in front of women. Stuart was actually doing pretty well with the ladies in this hour, and even managed to sleep in the same bed as one of them, though that was limited to jokes about how sleeping with her actually made him wake up not aroused for a change. Trying too hard to befriend his construction workers was never going to end well, but there were a few fun false positives that looked like they’d be a problem before the actual offending incident occurred. Accompanying the guys to go beat someone up resulted in some food on his shirt and nothing more, and he didn’t even have to do the gram of coke he committed to because they got interrupted in the bathroom. Coming up with a quick excuse was his downfall, and, in addition to a frightening night, it cost him an extra $3,000 on his construction job and got him an unproductive message left for him and everyone else to see. Quoting the “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” theme song was definitely the highlight of his evening with his new friends. Wade’s plan to win back his wife was miserable, and I do hope he gets over her and starts moving on with his life. Jessica babysitting Cassidy for Wade was fun, mainly for the feelings it prompted in Jessica, which encouraged her to have a conversation with her non-boyfriend in which he definitely tried to avoid committing to anything.
