Last year’s nominees: Boardwalk Empire, Breaking Bad, Downton Abbey, Game of Thrones, Homeland
Current predictions: Count out “Breaking Bad” since it ended last year. Most people are predicting that both “Boardwalk Empire” and “Homeland” won’t be nominated, but I think they will, since “Boardwalk” has been nominated four years running and it makes sense that it would be recognized for its fifth and final year, while “Homeland” rebounded from a lackluster third season that was recognized with a stronger fourth season that deserves to be. “Downton Abbey” and “Game of Thrones” are good bets to return, and I think that House of Cards, which I would have thought would be here last year, will join them, rounding out the list. It’s possible that The Good Wife, a past nominee in this category, or True Detective could bump one of the above shows.
