SAG Predictions: Best Male Actor in a Comedy Series

Last year’s nominees: Alec Baldwin (30 Rock), Ty Burrell (Modern Family), Jason Bateman (Arrested Development), Don Cheadle (House of Lies), and Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory)

The rundown: This category doesn’t seem too complicated: take away Baldwin, whose show has ended, and Bateman, whose show didn’t air this year. Keep Burrell, Cheadle, and Parsons, whose series are still popular, and add back in Louis C.K. (Louie), who is eligible again after his show took a year off. The likeliest candidate to join them is Jeffrey Tambor (Transparent), who should be able to transcend the bias against new shows due to his impressive and respectable career. Watch out for past nominees like Eric Stonestreet (Modern Family), Ed O’Neill (Modern Family), and Jon Cryer (Two and a Half Men) to grab the spot instead.

Current predictions: Burrell, Cheadle, C.K., Parsons, Tambor
