Top 20 New Shows of 2011: #4

My annual TV Awards, the AFT Television Awards, are given out during the summer. But this year, during both the spring and the fall, produced many impressive new television series. As 2011 closes out and 2012 begins, here’s a look back at the best new shows of the year.

#4: Boss
This Starz Friday night drama got really good fast, and the best part was that it wasn’t just the Kelsey Grammer show. He’s terrific, but so are Kathleen Robertson as Kitty and Ezra Stone as Ezra, his two most trusted advisors. The show is dark and Grammer’s Tom Kane is insanely corrupt, which makes for tremendously fantastic television, managing to fit so much material into just eight episodes.
