Top 20 New Shows of 2011: #5

My annual TV Awards, the AFT Television Awards, are given out during the summer. But this year, during both the spring and the fall, produced many impressive new television series. As 2011 closes out and 2012 begins, here’s a look back at the best new shows of the year.

#5: Episodes
This biting Showtime satire brilliantly captures the unbelievable transformation that can occur when British shows are adapted for American television. Matt LeBlanc’s parody of himself is amusing, but the best part is the supporting cast, highlighted by Tamsin Greig’s Beverly and Kathleen Rose Perkins as Carol. Season one was self-contained, and episode two is sure to be just as hilariously funny.
