What I’m Watching: Nikita

Nikita: Season 2, Episode 11 “Pale Fire” (B)

It’s hard to deny that having Nikita and Alex back on the same side again isn’t completely thrilling. Alex’s initial reaction of “Oh, crap” upon seeing her former mentor was a light introduction to their renewed partnership, but seeing the two of them practice a duck-and-shoot move twice in a row and take down all of their enemies was highly impressive. Despite Alex’s abandonment of Nikita to pursue her own goals, Nikita proved that she has never given up on Alex, trying to get her mother to leave with her even after finding out that she had been sleeping with Semak before Alex’s father was killed. Realizing that her mother betrayed her should allow Alex to be much more focused again, and while the two ladies were busy doing their thing in Russia, Owen and Michael made surprising progress with the Guardians. Discovering that Roan is the person pulling all of the strings for Percy is the most important piece thus far, and I’m excited to see what their plan is for Percy. Speaking of Percy, Amanda’s idea to put Ryan in his cell is fantastic mainly because it allows Percy to reveal much of his evil plan to Ryan, and gives Ryan the opportunity to ask whatever questions he (or viewers) may have. Presumably, the fact that Ryan is still alive is going to come to light when Nikita and crew try to break Percy out to kill him, and that’s sure to be a big win for the anti-Division, anti-Oversight, anti-everything guys.
