Second Run TV: Smallville

Smallville: Season 6, Episode 8 "Static" (C-)

I still have faith in this show's possibility to recover based on the episodes "Arrow" and "Rage", but this one is a misstep. The whole frequency thing and the dark tone are intriguing to be sure, but what happens makes no sense at all. And the whole "Jimmy to the rescue" thing is just a bit peculiar. Otherwise, the intensification of the Lana-Lex relationship is cool, even though the path there resembles that dreadful "Lex-mas" episode from last year. And Clark being sidelined, as much as I am not a fan of the wooden Tom Welling, is not as thrilling as I might have hoped. His minor plotline is also pretty throwaway, with a wrestler as the guest star/freak of the week? Eek.
