12 Monkeys: Season 2, Episode 6 “Immortal” (B+)
This episode was pretty creepy, primarily since the latest primary was a rather twisted individual who thought that he was killing people because the witness told him he was supposed to. Cole and Ramse had fun in 1975, and we met yet another law enforcement agent in the past played by an alum of “The Shield,” David Marciano in this case, who proved far less useful than Jay Karnes’ character who ultimately asked the right questions and got rewarded with an unforgettable vision of Cole and his friends disappearing right in front of his eyes. Cole is off his kick of not killing people to help change the future, and it was obvious that Kyle had to go, just so long as he wasn’t killed with a knife made from his bone. In 2016, Jennifer has the rare opportunity to be the less crazy one, and now she’s helping Cassie to make sure that she’s staying tethered to reality. The way that we’re seeing the witness has been changing a lot recently, first from the surprise that it was Ramse and then with mysterious self-shaping writing on a wall, and now with possessed eyes. Aaron with half his face burned off was a freaky representation, and whatever happened to make Cassie’s eyes turn black is very worrisome. Though she was doing well keeping the world in check in this episode, I suspect Jennifer could easily fall prey to the manipulative entity trying to use Cassie to ensure that time wasn’t preserved as the good guys want it to be.
