What I’m Watching: The Gifted

The Gifted: Season 2, Episode 3 “coMplications” (B-)

As this season continues, we’re seeing how each of our “good guys” started out as something much more sinister, and now they’re completely about doing the right thing as they go up against something actually evil. Eclipse was devastated by not being able to meet his daughter, and now all of a sudden the Hellfire Club decided that it was necessary for him to come to try to help Polaris’ baby. The welcoming party of the Frost sisters wasn’t able to get into his mind, but he did see something in theirs after he came and managed to heal Dawn without much effort. He tried to warn Polaris, she heard him, but Reeva still managed to subdue him before he did any real damage. Why she let him live and released him when she was ready to kill Andy because he wasn’t being compliant is a mystery, and now it’s likely that Eclipse is going to be able to track them down since he picked up on key elements of their location and may also have some sort of psychic bond with his daughter. Erg was only willing to talk to Blink, but he seems to want more from her than he’s willing to give. Reed has finally told his family about his powers, and maybe they can figure out a productive use for them now. I’m very tired of Jace constantly trying to tell everyone the truth when no one wants to listen - it’s getting extremely old.
