Now that all of the networks have announced their fall schedules, I want to quickly summarize my thoughts. I do not have access to any of the pilots at this point, but if at some point I do get to see a preview of anything, I will post my review right away. Nothing on any of the schedules really excites me, though I do plan to watch at least the pilot of each new show. I think that "Cane", the Jimmy Smits-led drama airing at Tuesdays at 10pm on CBS (do not get me started again on that) and "Journeyman", the sci-fi follow-up to "Heroes" on Monday nights on NBC, will likely be the shows I pick up. I plan to watch "Private Practice" also, the "Grey's Anatomy" spin-off, though it could prove to be like "Boston Legal" which I promptly gave up after a dedicated season of watching "The Practice." Overall, I think that ABC has the strongest set of shows (and more importantly, the largest number being launched in the fall), while NBC also has a solid list. CBS has poorly scheduled its shows, and after renewing six shows from the 2005-2006 season and only two more this year, the network seems to be banking more on returning shows than new offerings.
Several season finales coming up tonight and next week, and after that some summer shows on cable and a few on network television will be airing. On the left of the site, I will be listing what I plan to watch this summer and this fall. The list will be constantly updated as schedules change and, as time progresses and I see pilots. I will be writing this summer with TV on DVD reviews, reviews of any films I see, and retrospective articles of years and seasons past. Most importantly, I will be running through the Emmy Awards races with contenders, as well as distributing television awards of my own.
