What I'm Watching; Desperate Housewvies

Desperate Housewives: Season 3, Episode 22 "What Would We Do Without You?" (B)

Dramatic realizations by Tom/Lynette, Gabrielle, Edie, and Susan are good and all, but the mystery element of "Desperate Housewives," which is its token and most irreplaceable component, has been absent since the departure of a pregnant Marcia Cross on Bree's honeymoon. Luckily, Bree is coming back just in time for next week's season finale with some kind of shocker that show hopefully give the show a nice reinvigorating shot of intrigue. In the meantime, the men would benefit from better writing and more interesting character traits, especially Mike and Victor, and an entirely new plotline for Tom, which looks like it is in the works with Lynette's possible illness. My recommendation is to bring back the most intriguing male character since Mike (in the first season only, not now), who should be well on his way with the return of Bree. Orson, played by Kyle Maclachlan, who gave possibly the best lead performance in a drama series ever as Special Agent Dale Cooper on "Twin Peaks," is a great addition to the show which it used very well in the first half of this season but has since abandoned with his absence.
