The Shield: Season 6, Episode 1 "On the Jones" (A-)
Still just as good as it was when it started six years ago, "The Shield" is a show that has never gone downhill and has remained steadily interesting and compelling. The characters have only grown stronger, and the plot continues to be thrilling. This is the original show for bold and intense character confrontations, and tonight's episode is by no means an exception. Michael Chiklis (Vic) and Forest Whitaker (Kavannaugh) stand out as always, but Benito Martinez (Aceveda), CCH Pounder (Claudette), Catherine Dent (Danny), and as a nice surprise, Cathy Cahlin Ryan (Corinne), certainly hold their own. And David Marciano as the completly ineffective Billings provides great comic relief. I am beyond excited for the rest of this season.
