What I'm Watching: The Shield

The Shield: Season 6, Episode 4 "The New Guy" (B+)

This is not a typical episode of "The Shield" in both its format and its plot. The introduction of the "new guy" feels a bit rushed, but generally it works okay. This episode has a representative feeling of really trying to make it to the end, knowing full well that it is the last season and making sure to get in as much as possible (as "Alias" did, much less subtly). Shane's plotline continues to develop, and my favorite part of the whole episode: Julien gets offered the chance to join the Strike Team.
