B Positive: Season 2, Episode 2 “Vermont, Switzerland and Connecticut” (B)
I had forgotten that Drew’s sudden interest in Gina was a problem because he was already in a relationship with Adriana. I suppose that was a big part of season one, and therefore it was important to have her come back, but it’s a bit strange to me that Rosa Salazar wasn’t available to reprise the role for whatever reason and that it was recast rather than simply written out. Michelle Ortiz was a memorable part of an episode of the recently-cancelled “Mr. Corman,” and I don’t imagine that we’ll be seeing her here again soon given that she caught right away to the fact that Drew was way too into Gina. Expressing concern about her when Eli was the one having financial difficulties was the dead giveaway, and I don’t think she’s going to be nearly as attuned to his newfound affection for her since that’s not how she seems him at all, as she’s said explicitly. Having money and offering to pay for things has already been awkward since Eli wants to have that role in their relationship, and he has to come to terms with his new status on his own given that it’s going to be his new reality. Splurging on getaways with his girlfriend may not be the best idea for now, but he likely won’t be too amenable to that lifestyle change. He’s also not going to react well at whatever point that Drew does make his feelings for Gina known to her and everyone else.
