What I’m Watching: The Flash

The Flash: Season 4, Episode 12 “Honey, I Shrunk Team Flash” (B)

I’m not sure I’m buying all this prison stuff, and fortunately the rest of the content is mostly making up for it. The warden was so intent on convincing Barry that people like Big Sir aren’t good no matter how innocent they may be, but it turns out that he’s actually selling metas to the highest bidder – namely Amunet – and he was able to make Barry reveal himself as the Flash when he decided to help Big Sir’s dreams of being free in a village in China come true. That’s not good news for the future, but luckily the rest of Team Flash is all back to normal size so they’ll be able to track Amunet down and free their friend from something less problematic than a life sentence, although he won’t be able to live publicly as Barry Allen anymore. This meta villain’s power was pretty cool, and it was interesting that he was most obsessed with collecting little trinkets by shrinking down things that he wanted to steal. Iris stepping on Ralph like he was a piece of gum was a low point, and it’s a good thing that they all worked together to be able to get everyone back to the way they were before little Cisco and little Ralph imploded. Cecile gaining telepathic powers was a fun development mostly because of her inability to hide her excitement at hearing and speaking everyone’s thoughts. Sure, it might not be the best thing for her relationship with Joe, but it’s both entertaining and helpful otherwise.
