What I’m Watching: Supergirl

Supergirl: Season 3, Episode 11 “Fort Rozz” (B)

I’ll admit, I don’t really understand why our female friends needed to go to Fort Rozz to try to interrogate this priestess, and this whole Reign plotline isn’t proving to be nearly as engaging as I might have hoped. What we do know is that Sam is starting to realize that she’s losing time, and hopefully she and Alex can start to piece together the fact that she has an alter ego and she just needs to work hard enough, perhaps with Psi’s help, to fight back against her world-killer side. Forbidding any men from going to where Fort Rozz managed to be a convenient excuse to send Kara, Imra, Livewire, and Psi on a mission together where they showed that they can work together and that redemption is possible. Livewire didn’t make it out alive, but it’s good to know that CW regular Yael Grobglas can be on call whenever she’s needed, especially since Kara asked for her to have a nicer room with a window as a thank you for her help out in space. Brainiac-5 was quick to dismiss the backwards technology Winn was championing but then managed to acknowledge his contribution to the mission. Back on Earth, Alex and Ruby sure had a good time together, talking about Maggie and about teenage bullies, and I think it was good for both of them to have a comforting and totally non-judgmental friend from a different generation. It’s hard to know what will happen to Ruby once Sam realizes she’s Reign, and I can’t imagine it’s going to be a pretty fight.
