Well, I didn’t expect this. That’s true of most occurrences on this show, especially of late, but it’s still pretty jarring to see Jax go to Stahl to make a deal. After all of the business with Opie, Chips, and Eddie being suspected rats, the fact that Jax is the first one of them to actually turn on his club (essentially) is extremely surprising. It makes sense considering there was no other way out for Gemma since she did actually kill someone. This show is reminding me even more of the later seasons of “The Shield” (in a really good way, of course), and David Marciano, who played idiot detective Billings on the elder FX series, is even present in this episode to aid the reference, following previous appearances by Kenneth Johnson and Jay Karnes. Seeing more of the personal life of Agent Stahl is truly fascinating as Jax finds her address and confronts her at her home, and it's the perfect timing for Jax to be dealing with another corrupt agent of law enforcement, now that Unser has to officially back off and actually enforce the law. SAMCRO really seems to be getting in the middle of a whole lot of messes in which they needn't be involved, though it's good that they're not all engaged in this trip to Ireland that's sure to go down violently. We're not yet halfway through the season, but once everything explodes with the Irish as Jax likely gets his son back and leaves some destruction in his path, this show is probably going to get just as intense as it did as the end of last season. Having Jax sign up as an informant for Stahl will make things even more volatile, and I can't wait to see it all unfold.

Speaking of "The Shield", I just started watching (and am reviewing episodes on my blog if you're interested). So far, I'm enjoying... even if it's got nothing on "The Wire" at this point.
I really do need to start watching "SOA" too, though. It looks really good.
I did notice, in fact, and I'm very excited. I've been reading but not commenting, but I will soon! With the possible exception of Six Feet Under, The Shield is my favorite show, and I think you're really going to start liking it as it progresses. And you'll definitely be able to get to know all of the characters' names!
