Life in Pieces: Season 4, Episode 3 “Misery Turd Name Pills” (B-)
It really is true that Morgan is the worst, and there’s no way that Colleen and Matt are going to make it with her living with him. They weren’t brave enough to tell her that she had to be nicer to their family members, prepared instead to ask them all to leave, and then they went and decided that they were all going to take the high road. It’s going to be difficult, and it was rare to see Clementine be more attuned to what was happening than anyone else. I didn’t realize that actresses Hunter King, who plays Clementine, and Joey King, who plays Morgan, are sisters in real life, which makes that comment all the more humorous. Jen and Greg thought they had the perfect plan to protect their precious baby name, and it was just bad luck that Colleen and Matt picked the same one. And of course the family decided not to support it anymore once Greg announced that they had taken it back from Matt in exchange for a whole lot of things. Heather’s happiness pill business was an entertaining venture, one that Jen did have to step in to explain could lead her down a very dangerous road. Sophia trapping an injured Joan with nonstop games that she just didn’t want to play anymore was very obviously supposed to have been a parody of “Misery,” and it was moderately entertaining. Any longer than a few-minute simple vignette probably would have gotten old very fast.
