Miracle Workers: Dark Ages: Season 2, Episode 10 “Moving Out: Part Two” (B+)
This season ended in exactly the way it should have, allowing its characters to only get slightly smaller in outsmarting the kingdom that wanted to kill them all. Eddie suggesting that the media always exaggerates these things and that, if things got really bad, they could always go down to his siege shelter was indicative of the absurd backwards logic that sometimes prompts people not to act until it’s much too late. I like that it was Eddie who, without knowing it, helped to save the day with the poisonous rock sprouts he had given Al earlier and which managed to convince the plague-hating Princess Vicki that it wasn’t even worth killing these peasants. Al being nominated to be the lone survivor was a good boost to her self-confidence, and she returned the favor right away by hatching a plan to save them. This was the most redeeming hour for Chauncley, who immediately suggested taking the peasants to his father’s armored pleasure yacht capable of holding a village. Cragner expressing the feeling of being completely happy with everything in his life demonstrated his disconnect with the plight of others to the degree of even getting Lord Vexler to abandon ship and come back to help. The final scene of Al calming Chauncley as they set off into the dark woods in search of Paris was great. This has been a fun season, and even though it wasn’t always so hilarious, it was entertaining, and I’d be up for a third iteration.
