The Flight Attendant: Season 1, Episode 4 “Conspiracy Theories” (B+)
Every episode of this show makes me even more impressed with the casting of Kaley Cuoco, whose frantic energy absolutes drives its tone and makes it what it is. Throwing her shoe at Miranda was a clever way to escape that situation, not that she did anything to keep out of trouble after that. After she told her neighbor not to let Cassie in, Annie was thoroughly annoyed that Max wanted to stay up all night and help Cassie tape together the pieces of shredding she had brought back, and they made substantial progress given where they started. It was awfully easy for her to get on the Portland flight that day in between meetings with her brother’s family, though she managed to forget her phone when she went to take pictures of the secret cargo that they were moving back and forth with no passengers on board. The confrontation with her brother was intense, yet another thing to distract her, and traveling back with Alex to a childhood memory she had suppressed was very interesting. Jason Jones from “The Detour” was extremely memorable as her father, one more comedic actor used to strong dramatic effect. I knew that something bad was going to happen as soon as she tracked down her Sabrina, and hearing her screams before she landed on the ground right in front of her was certainly a frightening way to realize that, even if Miranda was officially taken off the case, Cassie is far from safe or off the hook.
