Emmy Nominees: Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series

My predictions: 4/6, picking Sandra Oh and Chandra Wilson over Gless and Panjabi
Missing: Khandi Alexander, Rachel Griffiths, Sandra Oh, Chloe Sevigny, Chandra Wilson

Consider me extremely pleased. Almost all memory of “Grey’s Anatomy” has been erased this year as the show receives only two nominations, both for makeup. That frees up too slots to include some great new people who really deserve nominations, namely Christina Hendricks of “Mad Men” and Christine Baranski and Archie Panjabi of “The Good Wife.” Since this category often nominates multiple performers from one show, Hendricks is joined by Elisabeth Moss, whose drop-down from the lead category worked in her favor, giving her a second consecutive nod. Rose Byrne is the only returning nominee in this category, and this year, I’m okay with that since his work was much better than in the past. In previous years, I might have been furious about Sharon Gless making the cut for “Burn Notice,” but I think it’s great at this point. She’s been fun this past year, and it’s nice to see the show recognized in some way, even if I truly believe it to be a comedy. Maybe this can serve as a gateway for the show to earn additional nominations in future years. My call on Chloe Sevigny missing out on a nod proved to be right, and since I don't watch the show I can't say whether it's a good or bad thing. Regardless, I’d call this category one of the strongest this year.

Who should win? Moss, but anyone taking this award home would be fine by me.
Who will win? Impossible to say – maybe Moss or Panjabi?
