My predictions: 4/6, picking Vanessa Williams and Jenna Fischer over Krakowski and Taylor
Missing: Jane Adams, Jenna Fischer, Cheryl Hines, Elizabeth Perkins, Vanessa Williams
Why, oh why, does Holland Taylor need yet another nomination? I know that’s she capable of being so much better than her material, but again? This is Taylor’s foruth nod in six years, making the infrequent mentions seem all the more arbitrary. What about the wicked Vanessa Williams or the lovely Jenna Fischer? The fact that Fischer in particular gets such great material in episodes of the show that voters clearly watch (“Niagara” earned a writing nomination) makes her absence all the more puzzling. Jane Krakowski hardly had anything except James Franco to do this year, and I haven’t been watching “Saturday Night Live” anywhere near regularly enough to comment on Kristin Wiig’s inclusion. I am pleased, however, to see both Julie Bowen and very excited Emmy announcer Sofia Vergara here from “Modern Family,” as well as the incomparable Jane Lynch from “Glee.”
Who should win? Lynch or Vergara
Who will win? I had stated that Lynch likely might not win, but I can’t see any of these other nominees beating her.
