The funniest episode of Aziz Ansari’s new show found his character at his most fantastically mature with a superb duo of guest stars. The debut installment of the incomparable CW musical comedy was full of creativity. Two particularly transformative episodes of the year’s two best new relationship-based dramedies saw their characters through crises with enormous depth.

The winner:

Pilot (You, Me, Her) was a joyously fresh look at a relationship that proved irresistibly intriguing and necessitated an immediate commitment to the show.
