Emmy Nominees: Best Directing for a Drama Series

My predictions: 3/5, picking the pilots of “The Good Wife” and “Justified” over “Dexter” and “Treme

The nominees:
“Breaking Bad” (One Minute)
“Dexter” (The Getaway)
“Lost” (The End)
“Mad Men” (Guy Walks Into An Advertising Agency)
“Treme” (Pilot)

I’m excited to report that I selected the correct episodes for the three shows whose inclusion here I predicted. I chose the wrong pilot to be honored here and (almost) nowhere else. While “Justified” scored an awesome Main Title Theme Music nod, “Treme” appeared here and in the Music and Lyrics category. “The Good Wife” got a writing nod as well as five acting nominations and a Best Drama Series mention. This is the first directing nomination for “Dexter,” for its intense finale. This is definitely a great list!

Who should win? I can’t think of anything more tightly directed than the nominated episode of “Breaking Bad.”
Who will win? “Breaking Bad” or “Treme,” maybe?

You really don't think that Jack Bender's epic 105-minute Lost series finale is a contender?

You're probably right; we'll see. I'll revisit when I do final predictions in August.

Glad you're looking forward to the top 25 episodes list. I'm a big fan of your Emmy tape site as well. I'm just about to begin going through the guest episodes I haven't seen, starting with Jane Lynch's and Christine Baranski's.
