The competition: Alec Baldwin’s Conservative TV boss (30 Rock), Steve Carell’s wacky manager (The Office), Thomas Jane’s kind-hearted prostitute (Hung), Matthew Morrison’s glee club coach (Glee), and Jim Parsons’ brilliant nerd (The Big Bang Theory).
For your information: All but Parsons, who won the Emmy this past year, were nominated last year. Baldwin has won thrice (2006, 2008, and 2009), and Carell won in 2005. This is the second consecutive nomination for Jane and Morrison, and Parsons’ first mention.
Who should win: Jane, but, sadly, if he was going to win, it would have been last year.
Who will win: Though Baldwin could keep on winning forever, Parsons, whose show also got nominated for the top award, probably stops him in his tracks this year.
