My predictions: 4/5, missing “The Kominsky Method”
Who’s missing? The Good Place, Russian Doll, Schitt’s Creek, Veep, Will and Grace
It’s interesting to see last year’s winner The Kominsky Method make a rare repeat appearance, especially after it failed to score an Emmy nomination for Best Comedy Series. In fact, just three of the seven shows nominated at the Emmys (all seven were eligible) scored here: past winner The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Barry, and the most recent Emmy champ, Fleabag. The only freshman series in the race is The Politician, beating out what I expected to show up, “Russian Doll.” It’s a shame that “The Good Place” got dropped right away, though I’m much more okay with “Veep” not staging a comeback. I still haven’t seen a good portion of the most recent seasons of “The Kominsky Method” and “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” but I’ve greatly enjoyed what I have watched thus far.
Who will win? It’s possible it could be “The Politician,” but Fleabag seems much likelier.
