SAG Nominees: Best Ensemble in a Comedy Series

My predictions: 3/5, missing “The Kominsky Method” and “Schitt’s Creek”
Who’s missing? GLOW, Veep, The Politician, The Good Place

This category actually matches up much more closely with the top category of the Golden Globes, with just one of the five nominees – “The Politician” – not showing up here. Whereas last year, “GLOW” was the only returning nominee, this year it’s the only one that’s not back, along with “Veep,” which was widely expected to be here after a year off the air. I’m most surprised about The Kominsky Method being nominated again, though I’ve only seen a bit of its most recent season, and I also have to catch up on last year’s winner, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. While I’m not a huge fan of the show, Schitt’s Creek breaking through makes a lot of sense and seems worthwhile because the ensemble is indeed fun. Barry being here again is a good choice, and I’m most excited about Fleabag expectedly earing a fantastic mention for its formidable ensemble. If only “The Good Place” could have merited a spot here.

Who will win? I think this goes to The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel over “Fleabag,” but it could always be “Schitt’s Creek” instead.
