Golden Globe Nominees: Best Actress in a Supporting Role in a TV Series

My predictions: 4/5, missing Collette
Who’s missing? Laura Dern (Big Little Lies), Alex Borstein (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), Yvonne Strahovski (The Handmaid’s Tale), Shailene Woodley (Big Little Lies), Chrissy Metz (This Is Us)

I correctly predicted that Dern, who did score a film nomination for “Marriage Story,” wouldn’t make the cut, though it does disappoint me to be right since I thought she was much better than her nominated costar Meryl Streep (Big Little Lies). The bigger and more exciting surprise is Toni Collette (Unbelievable), who was incredible in her role but who I didn’t think could score and manage to bump out Borstein. Emily Watson (Chernobyl) and Emmy winner Patricia Arquette (The Act) are the other limited series representatives, with the terrific Helena Bonham Carter (The Crown) rounding out a solid category.

Who will win? It would be hard to imagine Streep not winning, but I’m going to bet on Carter.
