The Flash: Season 6, Episode 7 “The Last Temptation of Barry Allen, Pt. 2” (C+)
It’s not entirely this show’s fault that the way that television works in this day and age has made it so that anyone who’s turned on the CW in the past few months is well aware that the five-show crossover starts next week. What that meant for this episode was that I knew that this Ramsey storyline would have to be neatly wrapped up by the end of the hour, which made watching it relatively pointless. I also gave up on “The Walking Dead” a while ago, and so if I had wanted to watch humans (or metahumans, in this case) hide from zombies for an hour, I could easily just start watching that again. Stark Raving Barry’s whole look made it hard to take him seriously, and there’s so much about this episode and storyline that just felt expected. Barry managed to say things that Ramsey didn’t realize were hints that he was still in there, and then he brought back Ramsey’s mother so that he could be reunited with her long enough for him to put him into a containment cell, a trick that, under different circumstances, Barry probably wouldn’t have pulled. Allegra being the one to use her power to stop Ramsey’s blood from infecting everyone with the particle accelerator was helpful since it made her a true part of the team, but I’m not sure how interested I’ll be in revisiting this crew after the crisis. This show won’t be back until February, so I have some time to decide how long I’m going to stick with this show.
