SAG Predictions: Best Female Actor in a Drama Series

Last year’s nominees: Julia Garner (Ozark), Laura Linney (Ozark), Elisabeth Moss (The Handmaid’s Tale), Sanrda Oh (Killing Eve), Robin Wright (House of Cards)

Three of last year’s nominees won’t be back since their shows didn’t air or ended. Last year’s winner Sandra Oh (Killing Eve) is likely to return, probably with Emmy-winning costar Jodie Comer (Killing Eve). The same goes for Elisabeth Moss (The Handmaid’s Tale), and she might be joined by past nominee Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things), whose show wasn’t on last year. She could be joined by another past nominee honored for the show’s first season, Winona Ryder (Stranger Things). New contenders include Olivia Colman (The Crown), who’s sure to secure a spot. I actually don’t think either Jennifer Aniston (The Morning Show) or Reese Witherspoon (The Morning Show) will be nominated, but maybe Nicole Kidman (Big Little Lies) or Reese Witherspoon (Big Little Lies) will be. It’s probably not smart to count out supporting actresses Meryl Streep (Big Little Lies) and Helena Bonham Carter (The Crown), who are big threats in this category.

Current predictions:
Olivia Colman (The Crown)
Nicole Kidman (Big Little Lies)
Elisabeth Moss (The Handmaid’s Tale)
Sandra Oh (Killing Eve)
Meryl Streep (Big Little Lies)
