The Flash: Season 6, Episode 9 “Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part Three” (B)
Well, that’s it for this five-show crossover for about a month, and I’m feeling intrigued if still a bit underwhelmed. It’s hard to suspend disbelief completely because we know that all our shows will be returning again soon, and that the worlds can’t stay permanently destroyed. That’s especially true for “Black Lightning,” whose main character was featured all by himself after learning that his world was gone, and since that’s only tangentially connected to this crossover, it’s possible this whole affair won’t even be mentioned on that show (which I don’t watch). The destruction of the Monitor is bad news for everyone involved, though at least Pariah, formerly known as Nash, was able to realize his purpose and transport a few heroes to the Vanishing Point so that they may stand a chance of bringing balance back to the multiverse and restoring everything back to the way it was, or at least close to it. Lex revealing himself to be among those sent there is a surprise, one that will hopefully help rather than hinder the fate of the entire multiverse. I do like the teams that we’re getting as a result of this crossover, like Ray working with Ralph and Iris (though not all of them currently exist), and a character I don’t love all that much, Constantine, being paired up with Mia and Diggle to try to find Oliver in purgatory, a place whose location I don’t exactly understand since all worlds have now been destroyed. Too much thinking won’t get me anywhere, and so I’ll settle for moderate anticipation for an action-packed two hours when this epic crossover returns one month from today.
