Homecoming: Season 2, Episode 6 “Needle” (C+)
We really didn’t need an entire episode for this. It was clear in the last episode that something Alex said to him had made him doubt that she was really being honest with him, and all we needed was to see that needle to realize that she was going to accidentally get dosed with what she was planning to use to drug Walter. She didn’t handle the situation very well, opting not to convince him to go into her motel room but instead to go with him on a boating expedition. Sticking him while he was driving past a truck did not seem like a wise idea, and so instead she went into the woods with him. The boat was conveniently there and she was able to stumble into it, but it would have helped if she had been a bit clearer and more direct with Audrey about what she should have known in that moment was going to happen to her. Now, Walter is out there, much more aware of what he went through than he was before Alex showed up to try to interrogate him, and Alex isn’t going to remember any of this since she doesn’t have a clue who she is. I preferred the spotlight on what was happening at Geist with Audrey and Bunda, and now there’s just one episode to wrap all that up. Should this show be renewed for a third season, I’d probably still convince myself to watch, but it’s not making a great case for itself right now.
