Top 20 New Shows of 2012: #3

My annual TV Awards, the AFT Television Awards, are given out during the summer. But this year, during both the spring and the fall, produced many impressive new television series. As 2012 closes out and 2013 begins, here’s a look back at the best new shows of the year.

#3: Veep
Armando Iannucci’s 2009 film “In the Loop” was a magnificent and hilarious political satire, and it’s great to see him back with this biting HBO series. Julia Louis-Dreyfus may have won the Emmy, but the entire ensemble is terrific, and knows just how to utter the brilliant dialogue composed for this nutty and superb show.
