Limitless: Season 1, Episode 22 “Finale: Part Two!!” (B+)
This was a very fitting and fun finale, one that really wrapped everything up and set up what I think will be an enjoyable and worthwhile season two, though CBS has yet to make a decision on whether it will be coming back. I like that when Brian’s history of lying due to needing to do Senator Morra and Sands’ bidding came to light, it didn’t actually affect his standing at the FBI. If anything, the way that he behaved once everything was out in the open only served to help his case, and now he can become a full-fledged agent who is still as ridiculous and sarcastic but might end up being a bit more respected. We didn’t get to that point right away, of course, and Brian was not doing well for a while, especially when he started blanking out on time and not being able to be present in the moment. Mourning Piper’s death prematurely paved the way for the great surprise that she was home chatting with Brian’s father, and that she had the immunity shot ready for Brian in the form of a lifelong vaccine, which now means that he doesn’t need to be loyal to anyone except for his one employer. It was great to see Mike and Ike get so involved in the operation, and the big reveal about real names was funny. I like this cast a lot and I think this show has a lot to offer, and I really do hope that we get to see another season of one of the best procedurals CBS currently has to offer.
