What I’m Watching: You, Me, Her

You, Me, Her: Season 1, Episode 5 “Niece Jackie” (B+)

I’ve said before that Izzy is one of the best parts of this show, but its central couple is pretty terrific too. I enjoyed Jack and Emma’s coffee shop discussion about their actions, which they freely admitted to each other, and their shared jealously of Izzy being with anyone else and either of them being with her. It’s great that Izzy shares that same sentiment, and that the ending of the episode found the three of them talking about the possibility of a threesome. I don’t think that’s actually the best plan since the thrill of individual clandestine experiences is what’s more enticing, but they’ll figure that out in time. This “Niece Jackie” lie is getting less and less credible by the moment, as Jack’s “dude” moment with Andy went over poorly and then Emma fumbled with Lori, coming up with the Jacqueline Isabelle lie in the moment. It’s unfortunate how small a town they live in, though, since it means that Andy was drinking at a bar where the man pouring his drinks also dropped Izzy off at a strange place in the woods which enabled him to remember him enough to potentially blow her cover. Andy is a nice guy despite what Jack and Emma conjured up to try to hate him, and he’s going to react very badly to seeing what she’s involved in, which is going to put a damper on the excitement of a threesome and cause some more stress to be put into this already strained relationship.
