What I’m Watching: You, Me, Her

You, Me, Her: Season 2, Episode 7 “Weird Janis and the White Trash Baby Vessel” (B+)

Even though it took a while for them to get there, I think all three members of all thruple may have come up with the perfect solution to their parent problem. I use that term purposely since it refers to two separate issues: the family that they all want to have in some way or another and the imminent arrival of Emma’s very unflinching, conservative mother and father. Kicking Izzy out of the house when they were coming over so that she wouldn’t be in the way and cause questions to be asked wasn’t the kindest thing they could have done, and she was right to be furious at being referred to in the third person for the umpteenth time. But needing a surrogate presents the most obvious possible solution to everything, since it makes her an intrinsic part of the conception experience. Telling her to pretend to be dumb and put on an accent isn’t the most flattering direction, but I do think that this could work in a much more long-term way, though I’m not sure I trust the judgment of any of the three to be parents in the near future. At least Jack made the right choice to come home and return to his wife and girlfriend, just in time for a humorous sit-down with Lori and Ava in which Lori got busted for being a humongous hypocrite. On the side, we also have some love junkie Andy drama and a somewhat unexpected mushroom wilderness adventure involving unwilling participants Carmen and Dave.
