iZombie: Season 3, Episode 4 “Wag the Tongue Slowly” (B+)
Obviously, we were aware from the start of the episode that the woman killed was a huge gossip, but I like that it took longer for Liv and Clive to find that out, which led to a major moment of realization and acknowledgment that suddenly explained Liv’s behavior. The impending public reveal of Seattle’s zombie population and all of the other recurring drama on this show is more exciting than the episodic murders, but I did like the fact that there wasn’t one particular person who had caused the death of the gossip but rather a number of them in the office who just wanted to give her a taste of her own medicine for constantly wanting to ruin their lives. Liv telling Ravi about how close Peyton and Blaine were wasn’t very nice or helpful, and I also found that to be an extremely involving part of the episode, with Blaine trying to enjoy his experience with Peyton prior to her regaining all of his memories. Stopping short of having sex was a surprisingly noble thing to do, and I really am curious to see how he behaves once he’s back to his old self. Major could sure use some good news about the cure since he’s in bad shape and only getting worse. Tracking down Natalie didn’t prove to be all that difficult, but when he did find her, she wasn’t too happy about when he showed up and definitely didn’t want to take the cure. We’ll have to see what happens with that.
