What I’m Watching: iZombie

iZombie: Season 3, Episode 8 “Eat a Knievel” (B+)

This season has been all about Liv being ridiculous, constantly eating the brains of annoying people and adopting their habits full-force, and that happened yet again in this episode. Liv going into the interrogation room to staple a suspect’s tongue to the table was a poor start, and her excitement at putting glue on the outside of the coffee mug and scaring Clive was extremely entertaining. Liv also used the brain she was on to have another romantic date with Justin, and maybe that whole thing will work out after all. It didn’t take long for Vivian to figure out that Major was human, but, tragically, she got killed in an unfortunate move since any show with Andrea Savage on it is automatically better than a show without her. The brother who is replacing her seems to far more militant and likely to cause deadly carnage as a result of his outlook and orders. As Angus tried to wrest control of the bar from an unamused Don E, Blaine wasted no time in becoming a zombie again, and he had a very well-oriented revenge plan for his father. Trusting Don E and giving him back the control he wanted was absolutely the right move, and now he’s headed back to a lucrative and productive place in society. That final scene with a less white Liv and Ravi trying to get into the meeting where they were checking blood pressure was eerie, and the look on Ravi’s face when Liv left him there was chilling. Let’s hope everything works out okay for our intrepid friends.
