What I’m Watching: The Mosquito Coast

The Mosquito Coast: Season 2, Episode 6 “Goat Head Taco” (B)

It turns out that Allie choosing to spare the tech rather than let Bill shoot him worked out well for everyone, since it meant that he was either terrified or grateful enough to decide to not identify them, allowing them to walk away with Carter’s compliments. I’m intrigued by the exchange that Carter had with Andrea, who threatened that she and her father would have to be seen, something that would evidently be very bad for Carter. JJ was eager to report what he had found out about Allie being seen at the event, though Renee didn’t want to hear anything about it since he’s already apparently been told to back off. The connection with Richard might be tempting, however, and he’s also up to questionable things that might put everyone in jeopardy. Allie was furious with Isela for her endorsement of terrorism, something he does not feel is necessary if lives have to be taken, and now he’s back on board with Margot’s plan to leave, even if they don’t have a plan just yet. She shifted quite quickly to a new scapegoat of Richard, though the FBI thinks that Richard and Allie are working together and she already offered up her husband, so cutting a neat deal is going to be tricky. Allie was also just as against working with the government as he was opposed to Isela’s tactics, yet another complication in this whole mess. Dina apologizing to her mother but still lording superiority over her wasn’t terribly kind, even if it was a slight improvement from their previous encounter.
