What I’m Watching: Sons of Anarchy

Sons of Anarchy: Season 4, Episode 9 “Kiss” (B+)

It’s extremely disconcerting to have both Gemma and Unser be fully aware of Clay’s murderous actions and not act on their knowledge in any real way. It’s a good thing Unser didn’t go to the police because Gemma likely would have taken care of him right then and there, but something tells me that Clay isn’t going to heed Gemma’s request that nothing happen to Tara, especially since it was so close to already in motion and he did pick up the phone in the closing moments. Tara’s planned escape to Oregon may now go better than planned with Jax driving her there, but I suspect that he’ll now cross paths with his fiancée’s would-be assassin and then go ballistic on Clay on the way back. Going into business with the cartel is looking like more of a mistake with each blood bath that SAMCRO encounters, and they’re definitely going to lose more friends than they’re going to make. Chibs and Jax were wise – and kind – not to tell the others about Juice’s suicide attempt, and I’m just hopeful that the two of them decide that he’s trustworthy, what with his increasingly unpredictable behavior. Juice went nuts on Roosevelt when he found out the extent of the case being built against SAMCRO, and it was amusing to see Linc hop on top of the table to avoid the situation. Telling him that they’re turning Otto is likely to make him want to get on the right side of things, and I just hope that he survives this, since it’s looking less and less likely by the minute.
