What I’m Watching: Superman and Lois (Season Finale)

Superman and Lois: Season 2, Episode 15 “Waiting for Superman” (B+)

For a show with only two people’s names in its title, it’s teamwork that most often helps right things, which in this case involved a number of players. Tal was particularly significant in the contributions that he made to bring Superman closer to the sun to get his powers back, and he appears to have gotten his own happy ending, existing in the other world that might be better suited to his inclinations and personality. His parting gift of two trucks for his nephews is sure to drive their parents crazy, though at least that might keep them grounded, provided Jordan doesn’t need to step in for his father again if another supervillain tries to destroy the world. Ally was not pleased, understandably, to be defeated, and I feel like putting the now-separated two Allys in the same cell is a very bad idea since they’re sure to eventually rally and figure out a plan for revenge. Chrissy knowing that Clark is Superman feels like something that should have happened a while ago to better facilitate the working relationship between Chrissy and Lois and protect his secret identity, so that’s at least a positive if belated development. It’s good to see that Sarah and Jordan are going to start over, and that Lana and Kyle can be okay with each other even if things are never going to go back to the way they were. It’s interesting to end on an uplifting and conflict-free note with a new family fortress being built, and I’m curious to see what comes next in season three.

Season grade: B+
Season MVP: Tyler Hoechlin as Clark
